Without hesitation, Bita tirelessly began searching for answers and ways to help support his upcoming battle.
This wave of new beginnings guided her passion to naturopathic medicine where she was able to find serenity in knowing more and seeking out solutions to so many unanswered problems. After starting from scratch, helping support her partner’s recovery from cancer, and successfully completing medical school, she officially received her Naturopathic Doctorate degree from Bastyr University in 2019.
She has since practiced as a licensed Naturopathic Physician in the state of Washington and has worked alongside Dr. Ashley Gundermann since the launch of New Wave Medicine in August 2021.
Dr. Shakib believes that “true health is freedom from limitations and restrictions" and approaches each case by naturopathic principles and the following therapeutic order:
Removing obstacles to health
Stimulating the body’s self-healing mechanisms
Strengthening weakened or damaged Systems – Restore and regenerate
Correcting structural integrity
Using natural therapies to address pathology and symptoms
Using pharmaceutical or synthetic substances, on a case by case basis, to stop progressive pathology
Referring out if high force, invasive therapies are necessary to suppress pathology
Outside her Naturopathic passion, Dr. Shakib is an experience junkie, embracing all types of new adventures that help her gain a larger perspective on the world around her. To this day, she lives by naturopathic principles and is confident that many have attributed to her partner's recovery and excellent ongoing health post-cancer.
Rachele Wright, ARNP
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, Ketamine Therapist & Cosmetic Injector
Rachele is a Washington native and knew from a young age that she wanted to be in the medical field. After spending 8 years as an ICU nurse, she wanted more autonomy and went back to school for her master’s in nursing to become an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP). For the past 5 years, she has seen cardiology patients both in the hospital setting and in clinics. While she loved her work and patients, she felt called to branch out of traditional medicine and get certified in aesthetics. She has always been passionate about skincare and knew she could put medicine and skincare together! Her goal is to make you feel and look beautiful, well rested, and more youthful, while still maintaining a natural appearance. Outside of work, you will find her with her husband and two bernedoodles, Oscar and Jake. She enjoys plenty of outdoor activities like any true PNW native and trys to travel outside of the country at least once per year.
Noor Amro, FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner, Aesthetics Specialist
Language spoken: English, Arabic, Spanish (general)
Noor is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Studio Arts and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Memphis. Noor was born and raised in Memphis,TN. As the eldest daughter of six in a Palestinian-immigrant family, Noor felt the need to take advantage of the opportunities afforded to her that her parents did not have. This inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare, so she could give back to her community. Her journey started as an emergency room scribe during nursing school, which progressed to becoming an ICU nurse after graduating. Finally, after a few years in ICU, she chose to advance her career as a nurse practitioner.
After spending the year navigating ICU through the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Noor decided it was time to explore new opportunities in healthcare. This prompted her to pack her bags and move to Seattle, WA, where she currently works as a telehealth provider in mental health and as a post-acute care nurse practitioner in multiple Seattle skilled nursing facilities. Additionally, she began working in aesthetic clinics where she specialized in popular services such as laser hair removal, BBL photo facials, CoolSculpting, CoolTone, PDO threads, and Botox.
Noor’s passion in the aesthetic industry has been present since her undergraduate years, when she was a studio arts major. She derived her technique and precision in aesthetic services from hundreds of hours spent portrait painting, ceramic sculpting, and drawing during her art program. Both her art and healthcare experiences built the foundation of her hands-on skillset in aesthetic services. Noor’s compassion and consistent communication prioritize the client’s safety and desired goals for the most effective treatment session.
On her time off, Noor spends her days exploring the city of Seattle. She enjoys shopping at local businesses, trying out new restaurants, and boxing at her local gym. Other days, you may find Noor wheel throwing at a ceramics studio or having a quiet evening inside with her cat, Waffle.
